Proctology and Laser

Gall Bladder Laparoscopic Removal

Laser Surgery Vs Conventional Surgery

  • The main advantage of LASER PROCTOLOGY for treatment is that the size of incision / cut is very small. That is why the recovery and pain is much less than open surgery. It is safer and requires lesser visits to the clinic after surgery. This is the reason for its popularity.

Following are advantages of LASER over Conventional Surgery:

  1.  Much better surgical precision

  2.  Does not require general anesthesia

  3.  Faster surgeries

  4.  Usually same day discharge

  5.  Early return to normal life style and work (3-5 day)

  6.  No or minimal surtures reuired

  7.  Leaved no or minimal scars

  8.  Blood loss in minimal during surgery

  9.  Less pain after surgery

  10.  Lesser risk of infection

  11.   Lesser risk of prolapse or rectal stenosis

  12. Anal sphincter action is well preserved (no chances of incontinence).

  13. Lesser visits to the clinic fter surgery

Anorectal Diseases That Require Laser Surgery

Laser Surgeries for Piles

Laser Surgeries for Fistula

Laser Surgeries for Pilonidal Sinus

There are 3 types of laser surgeries for hemorrhoids:

Hemorrhoidal Laser Procedure (HeLp)

HeLP: In this procedure, a special device is sued to identify the blood vessels supplying the hemorrhoid mass. The device used is called a Doppler. With its help, the source blood vessel is identified and coagulation of the same is performed using laser as a energy source

Laser Hemorrhoidoplasty (LHP)

This procedure differs from the above one by using a different source of energy called photocoagulation to burn (coagulate) the blood supply of the hemorrhoids.

Laser Haemorrhoidectomy

Laser Haemorrhoid treatment does not always require a doppler. This procedure is performed without using a doppler to shrink the swollen piles by burning them with the laser.

  • FILAC Technique (Fistula–Tract Laser Closure):

    • The fistula tract is ablated using the LASER

    •

  • LIFT + FILAC:

    • A combination of FILAC with ligation of the fistula atract

  • FILAC Technique (Fistula–Tract Laser Closure):

    • The fistula tract is ablated using the LASER
